After launching at A below, our cruise goal du jour was to sail to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse (B). Weather permitting, we would then sail out into the Atlantic and try to reach the outermost point of the Cape. Chip and I made it but paid in that we barely had time for a sip of beer at the QAR before looming darkness and dying winds forced us to move on. We were cheered on by AnnMarie and Ken half-way back to the ramp. And then the true guardian angel arrived in the form of Jim Heffernan who has convinced some kind-hearted documentary makers to give us a tow back. We left the boat in the parking lot overnight and got back to the QAR just in time before my glass of beer got stale.
