After a lovely night's sleep at Pieceful Cottage, a lovely B&B owned by a quilting enthusiast and her husband, we were ready to launch Tom's Wayfarer and Richard's Wanderer for the 12-mile sail north to Cedar Hill State Park where we were to meet up with the other two teams.     - click here for larger image

By the time we were ready to sail out into 12-knot SW breeze, the tide had covered these mud flats to which we should have paid more attention while they were visible. Here, the channel is quite obvious, but it was all water by the time we sailed off with a healthy tailwind and promptly ran aground numerous times in depths of one foot or less.     - click here for larger image
