I have re-thought majorly as follows, on the premise that only Hans and I are going in Hans' van and sailing The Nutshell:

 

Saturday 25 May: go as far as we can towards Crisfield
Sunday 26 May: arrive Somers Cove, Crisfield - the only good place to leave car & trailer

Monday 27 May: Crisfield to Tangier > stay at Bayview Inn or Chesapeake House

Tuesday 28 May: Tangier to Onancock > reservation for Hans and Al at the Charlotte Hotel 757- 787-7400 (see below also) > reserve slip(s) at Onancock Wharf Harbor (757-787-7911 winter hours Tues, Thurs 9AM to 3PM)

Wed 29 May: Nancock to Tangier (via Watts?) or if winds permit to Smith? - book Bayview Inn?

Thu 30 May: home to Crisfield > haul-out > start to drive home

Fri 31 May: finish drive home > in Oakville, Al transfers to his own car and proceeds to meet up with Nick in Detroit

Excellent launch ramps across from the Marina


Captain Tyler's Crabhouse

Sun 26 May 2019:
arrive around noon at the Somers Cove launch ramp across the Cove from the Somers Cove Marina > boat set-up and Marina check-in > group crab dinner at Captain Tyler's Crabhouse.

Accommodations:
Sleep aboard at marina, or follow the luxury model: Hans and I plan to return once more to our beloved Paddlewheel Motel aka Capt. Tyler's  (410-968-2220) which is eminently acceptable: clean, very reasonably priced, right near the Marina.


Mon. 27 May:
sail to Tangier Island - stay at Parks Marina

Sleep aboard in their slip at Milton Parks' Marina  757-891-2581   757 8912567 .
B&B: We have usually had good luck getting rooms at Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake House 757 891 2331   chesapeakehouseinfo@yahoo.com   I plan to try for the Bay View Inn  where we stayed last time. I highly recommend it. Click here for some of my 2015 Bay View pics.
 
Tues 28 May:
sail about 12 n. miles south-east to Onancock




Accommodations:

Wed 29 May:
if winds ideal, Onancock to Smith Island
otherwise, Onancock to Tangier via Watts


Thurs 30 May:
return to Crisfield > Al and Hans haul out and start for home



Fri 31 May:
reach home > Al proceeds to Detroit for BOD Regatta
