Worlds Experience:

Sailing History: Loves the water, above and below, always happy to sail boats big, small inshore or offshore, whatever the weather. Enjoys both cruising and racing in keelboats and dinghies.

Endeavours in the Wayfarer include Intl cruising rallies in the Isle of Wight, Friesland and Ireland.  Club racing in Greystones SC and taken part in international and National Championships with mixed success, the best results being: Irish Nationals; 1st in 2009, 2nd in 2010 & 2012 and 3rd in 2012 Dutch Nationals: 3rd in 2011 and 2nd in 2012
1st Lady Helm, UK Nationals; 2010, 2011 & 2012 and in the XIV Worlds.

1st in the 2012 Shannon Raid and also in the Shipman 28 Irish National Championships (keelboat). Most other keelboat moments of glory have just been club racing events apart from a second place finish in an ARC double handed transatlantic race.

Sailing History:  Be it Navy Ships, powerboats, windsurfers, kayaks, kite-boards, keelboats or dinghies, Dave enjoys skimming across the water in anything that floats!  Currently he is endeavouring to master the challenge of a Musto Skiff in the fresh breezes at his home club, Stokes Bay, in the busy Solent waters.

A relative newcomer to the Wayfarer fleet, Dave is already making regular appearances on the podium. A 4th place finish in the 2012 UK National Championships, for W10855 Studland Seahorse with Geof Gibbons, was sufficient to clinch the UKWA  Best Newcomers Trophy, this was soon followed by a double victory in Pool week where the Seahorse galloped to the front to take the overall honours and Dave also bagged the crews race. In September in a change of boat and country, he teamed up with Monica in W10562 Short Fuse and together they secured the top spot in the Shannon Raid having won 8 of the 11 races in a 220km adventure race on the Shannon waterway in Ireland.
