Sailing
History: Gordon won his first Wayfarer trophy in 1978, but started by building a mirror in 1973 with his father and brother, sailing this for 6 years, up to regional level. With his father, has sailed W1611 Busy Bee for 25 years. Current holder of the Yellow Boat Trophy. Also sailed keelboats and driven RIB's gaining Day Skipper and Safety Boat qualifications. |
Sailing History: Robin has 10 years on Wayfarers, mainly as crew, including at Worlds, Europeans and Nationals. He has recently started helming and has surprised even himself. He takes no prisoners and when asked for a quote he said "Illegitimi non carborundum". Good luck with the translation. |

not sailing: Work: Club & Coach Development Officer (NI) for Rowing Ireland, also a Chartered Architect with 25 yrs experience. Hobbies: Rowing administrator, coach, tutor, and participant. Captain of Lagan Scullers' Club, the only rowing club in Ireland dedicated to the discipline of Sculling. Secretary of Irish Section of UK Wayfarer Association. |
When
not sailing: Work: Robin lists his skills as Film Extra, Landscape and Garden Designer. He is modest but has appeared in Game of Thrones, and The Fall. He has turned down other parts to take part in this event. Hobbies: Hiking, Gardening, food (especially cheesecake, birthday cake, or in fact any cake at all), and music. He is famous for inventing the Patricia Burger, which includes a burger, cheese, onions, bacon, and a sausage. |
