2. Facts found: The crew of Hamlet's Slot paddled until just before the start signal was made. The German yacht, Schnauze, lodged a protest which conformed to all the requirements of rule 61. Decision: According to the
Definition of racing,
the crew of Hamlet's Slot were racing
from the moment their Prep Signal was made. Therefore, their paddling
infringed rule 42, the Propulsion
Rule,
which, like all rules of Part 4,
applies "to
boats racing". Hamlet's
Slot is DSQ under rule 42.
A Two-Turns Penalty was not an option since that is available only to
atone for an infringement of a rule in Part 2
(see rule 44). |
