27. Sailing
buoys to port
in a 15-knot breeze, Viking Vendetta
approaches
the windward mark on port tack as shown in the diagram at left. He
calls
for mark-room from Yesterday’s Jesper who
is
coming
in on starboard. Jesper yells “No way!”
or
its Danish equivalent. Vendetta is
finally
forced to bear away to avoid colliding with Jesper.
As he crosses Jesper’s transom, Vendetta
yells “Protest”. |
