Pictorial Memories - 4

In 2010, Rock Hall not the only place we saw Frank and Sue. Just before Memorial Day, we were getting set
for our annual Chesapeake Cruise (brief overnight stop at Richard Watterson's place above), having arrived at ...

... our launch ramp at Crisfield's Somers Cove after a fun ...

... convoy through SE Pennsylvania, when ...
.....

... who should roll into the parking lot but Frank (above) and Sue
who had decided to come all the way from Chestertown to see us off.
........

Waiting for our crab dinner: Frank trades tips with Kit Wallace's boat-building brother, Mark.
........

In mid-September that year, Marc Bennett (by now married to Julie and emigrated to Michigan) and I
got to visit with Frank and Sue in Brooklin, Maine where Marc was to pick up W4270, a gift from Frank.
........

We really enjoyed the tour of this boat-building Mecca that Frank gave us. And we got a live view (above) of
the Windsprite, designed and built by Frank and lovingly referred to by Frank as "a Wayfarer on steroids".
........
2011: the WOOD Regatta

In May 2011, Frank was largely responsible bringing the WoodenBoat magazine's wooden boat regatta back to life
and to Rock Hall after a 20-year sleep. Like Frank, WoodenBoat and its editor ...

countdown to the end of the world as we knew it, with Carl waiting to be taken away in the "rapture".
........

Frank's beautiful W8705 was the first to arrive. Even it was not carried off in the "raspture"!!
........

Here an old wooden Lightning is bookended by two wooden Wayfarers which did very well in our division.
