A fine spinnaker gybe - as always - for Frank aboard 3854. A confident Mike Mac (red spi) is sailing lower than Al on the rhumb line and will gain handsomely on this leg. Neil Rushton (r) just completing his gybe.

Sailing in the snow?? Actually, I couldn't get the plastic page cover in my album off without doing damage so that various pieces of dust got scanned in this and the next pic. Above, Uncle Al starts a light air run while Ted and Wendy Gadd (7699) prepare to pursue.
..
Race 1? Uncle Al (3854) being chased by Neil and Maggie Shawcross (7899)
..
Three Canadian boats: (l to r) Uncle Al, Scott and Grant Town, Roger Shepherd with Don Parker.
..
Championship form for Stuart Rix and Matt Frary
..
Stuart and Matt (9644) start a run while Mike and Simon (r) approach the windward mark on port.
..
Heider Funck and Tom Wharton moving nicely upwind
..
Our hard-working RC - John Weakley (centre) was an excellent Chairman!
..
Mike and Simon in exhilarating spi form
..
A lovely day for a run
..
Stuart and Matt demonstrate a very quick spi set, only a length or so past the windward mark
which can be seen just to leeward of Richard Stone as he rounds.
..
The end of race #2: a red-letter day for Richard Stone and Sue Millar (8288)
who have just achieved a rarely done Wayfarer feat: beating Ian Porter (7588).
..
End of race 2? Peter Dearnley (9578) loiters after getting a fine 4th while Ted Gadd (l) just nailed down
his best series finish with an 8th behind Uncle Al (3854) who snuck into 7th.
..
A lovely spinnaker scene - from race 1 or 6, I believe.
..
After banging the right corner (tsk! tsk!) in the final race, Uncle Al and Frank (3854)
round the first mark in 3rd place - just behind Ian Porter and Kevan Gibb (7588).
..
It took until the end of the final race for Uncle Al (3854) to finally beat out Neil Rushton (9627).
Here Al and Frank are about to cross the line in 4th place, their best result of this series.
..
Dawn Town captured this pre-race scene with her wide-angle camera.
..
Two former CWA greats, Eric Stubbs (l) and Ivar Zalitis, returned to do some crash boat work,
and had a great time.
